Where I stayed

I went for a wander around the city again for my last day in La Paz. I loved the views down the streets that almost always ended with houses rising as far as I could see in the distance and if they didn't had a mountain instead! It really is no wonder that building a proper foundation in the city can cost more than the actual house and that failing to make that investment can result in disaster during the rainy season as houses are washed away. I could have taken pictures of the views forever - thank goodness for digital cameras!

I also met one of the other longer term (though not quite as long as me!) residents of the Surfhouse from Arica who is staying in La Paz just now. It was nice to catch up with her and I thoroughly enjoyed my fried eggs on toast for lunch as well!

Later found a bar to watch the football to get my breath back (any excuse!) then this evening I am catching the overnight bus to Uyuni. I decided to splash out the extra 10 on the tourist bus after some of the stories I heard about both the standard of comfort of normal Bolivian buses and the quality of the road to Uyuni for the salt flats. Hopefully I'll be able to get some sleep anyway and ready for the next stop on my Bolivian tour.
