Up and out again this morning on the bus to dublin city. We started of with a very interesting tour of Kilmainham Jail which has a sorted history including the influx of prisoners during the potato famine to over ten times its capacity and the jailing and excutions of the leaders for Irish independence of the Easter Uprising in Dublin in 1916. The tour guide was very informative and gave an emotion charged performance. When we exited the jail it was snowing. I must add here it is very cold in Ireland and as the irish would say "its feckin freeezin" so we made the decision to find somewhere warm and cozy for lunch which did not take us long as just across form the jail was a small irish pub called The Patriot. We had a great lunch of toasted sandwiches and hot chocolate and then headed off for more walking through the gardens and buildings of the King's Hospital and then over to the Museum where there is a huge viking ship replica and large varied collection of many different treasures. Almost freezing to death we made our way to the bus stop and went home to thaw out.
