the Uffizi
Entry 33 of 45 | show all | print this entry |
Today we all slept in for a little bit and then wandered over to the Uffizi. The line was around three hours long! So, Leah went to sit and wait and the rest of us were waiting in line. Outside of the museum was an exact replica of the David. The real one is at the Academy Gallery, which we'll see tomorrow. It was really great to be able to get so close to this statue and really see all of the details. It made me even more excited to see the real one.
The Uffizi was really great. There were several really impressive paintings. My favorite one was Birth of Venus by Sandro Botticelli. Absolutely gorgeous! The level of detail is just incredible. Definitely worth the three hour wait.
