solve! We blew another tire on the turnpike, about 30 minutes from Somerset.
The Cooleys were too far ahead of us…so guess who was the helper changing a
tire on the turnpike at 10:00 at night? After that, all went well and we made
it to Walmart.
Surprisingly, we did get a good night’s sleep. The temperature went down and there were no
diesel trucks to keep us awake.
This morning we were able to find Somerset Tire, only 2 miles away
fixed in a jiffy and we were on the road by 9:00…with 4 brand new tires and a
Our destination today is Casey, Illinois. Per Map Quest, 540 miles – 8 hours 40
minutes. That means AT LEAST 11 hours towing time. As of 9:00 AM our ETA is
4:16 PM. I’m certain that will change.
Lunch was at a rest stop in Ohio. Chase brought his scooter along and was able to
scooter around while we ate. (This is a GREAT outlet for him!) Another great outlet
in the truck is his drum pad. He brought it along to practice his marching band
music. It’s very quiet and we actually enjoy listening to him! He’s probably
getting more practice on the road than he would at home. Taylor is quite
entertained by her iPhone
Today we were in Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Ohio, Indiana, and Illinois!
We made it to Casey, Illinois at 8:00 PM central time. (That’s 9:00 EST.) We
gained an hour when we crossed the line into Illinois. Traffic jam on 70
delayed us for about an hour. After eating dinner we are taking showers,
relaxing, and getting ready to rest up for another day of driving tomorrow. We
are thankful for an uneventful day today!
