Well today was a very eventful day - we all got up quite early after then early night (even Zander!!) We had a leisurely breakfast and all caught up on various activities - like diaries and blogs.  This morning was our first taste of a couple of things firstly, the London weather - it was cold, rainy and windy, and we learnt very quickly just how cold you can get!! Secondly we hit peak hour on the train and learnt just how many people you can squash into one train carriage - it does have its advantages though - you certainly don't get cold at all :-)  So off to the Tower - we firstly went to the Tower bridge - but it was so cold and windy and they didn't open for half an hour, that we decided to go to the Tower of London instead.  We went in and sort of wandered around a bit waiting for the Yeomen's tour which was starting in half an hour - but alas when we got back and it was time to go, he decided it was too wet so cancelled the tour.  So we took of on our own tour - it is a huge place, and we didn't see it all by any stretch of the imagination.  But we did see the crown jewels and several of the towers. The jewels and all the paraphernalia that goes Its a funny place as you see the old buildings and then close by the new buildings and even in the complex itself there are several different periods of architecture.  We had lunch at the cafe there - it was traditional english affair but quite yummy! (I had some apple crumble - nearly as good as yours Cindy)

We decided then to go to the London Bridge experience, this is held under the bridge area, it was quite gruesome as it was done through actors acting out the history, Abi got scared so she & I didn't go through the tomb area - which according to the boys was a lot more scary - but fun !!  It was quite expensive to get in and if we didn't have the pass would not have been worth it.  We decided that seeing we were going to be going out a night we would have a break in the afternoon - the only problem is, it means about an hour each way on the train.  So back to Greenwich we went, Abi & I did some window shopping and bought some cheese for tea.  Then we all had some relaxing time and after a light tea set off on the trains again.

We had a bit of drama when after the train rides and a lot of walking we ended up at the wrong Apollo Theatre - there are two of them one in the Theatre district the other near Buckingham Palace - so a bus trip, and with about two minutes to spare, we arrived at Wicked only to have someone else sitting in our seats.  We then got that sorted out and sat down to relax and enjoy the absolutely fantastic show of Wicked - well worth it anyone who is thinking of going.  We seemed to have the original cast, and they all did a great job.  The Theatre was quite large, and probably had about 1500 people in it. So after a Wicked evening we once again took the train home !!
