There was a beautiful sunrise over Acapulco from our balcony. We decided to sit in the Platinum Lounge and sat in a comfy couch to wait for our tags to be called off the ship. The taxi ride to the Acapulco airport was a long one, but we had a great driver. At the airport, we were issued an earlier flight out on a smaller plane. They hand inspected bags in three different areas (check -in, terminals, and boarding) and were in chaos due to all of us cruisers. We had to hop onto a shuttle bus to our plane and walk across the tarmac to the steps to get on the plane. The flight was good until we hit a storm front, and we bounced all around. Landed in Houston and had to walk down the steps again to board another shuttle bus to the terminal. In the terminal, we walked and walked to get into Immigration. It was such a huge building they could have parked several planes in there and let us off at the inspector's booths. Then we had to pick up our checked luggage to clear customs and then drop it off into a door just beyond. To our gate we headed...looking for dinner along the way...the airport is about five malls put together....they had sooo many shops & restaurants that you could vacation there. We arrived home a few hours earlier that night than originally scheduled. Great Trip!
