Our flight on AA from ORD was smooth. The Embassy Suites was in a perfect location to walk to Burger King, and we had a room view of the Hollywood sign. We even picked up our car rental at Budget the next day since it was next door to the hotel.
Had a full day planned touring LA areas. Hollywood sign up close and walked on the many stars in the sidewalk...my favorite was Mickey Mouse. We saw entertainers dressed in costumes, a movie preview area, hand/foot prints at the Mann's Chinese Theater, Kodak Theatre and many tourist attractions. Our drive by areas included: Hollywood Blvd., Santa Monica Blvd., Melrose, Jolie's Tattoo Parlor, WiskeyAGo Restaurant, Beverly Hills Hotel & homes, UCLA arrest, Rodeo Drive & shops. Our pit stop was at the Santa Monica Pier & Beach. We walked through the carnival like area and then headed up to the Third Street Promenade for dinner. Returned our car and had a good night sleep before our bon voyage.
Caught a transfer bus at the airport, and they took us to a hotel to check in & eat until the ship was ready for us. We were a few hours late leaving the port as weather held up a large group...we have four days at sea...no one would want to miss that. The drive out of the port was fun but windy. A restaurant had a loud speaker that wished us a safe Bon Voyage and hope you visit us on the 26th when you come back. Then it got very rough...the waves were hitting the 7th deck...we heard that they were 25-30 feet...I hit the bed and rolled and rolled.
First full day at sea...tried to head up to breakfast & ran back to the room to find myself getting sick in the garbage can. Took a pill & headed off the see the t-shirt sales, movie The Queen, trivia, Captain's cocktail party and a comedy show. Next day we hit trivia, cooking show on Hawaiian foods, Pearl Harbor lecture, Hula lessons, movie Dreamgirls, Bingo and a comedy show. Third day at sea was: trivia, Ukulele lessons, ice carving, floral demo, lecture on Hawaiians, Hibiscus craft, belly flop contest, movie Casino Royale, Bingo and Princess show. Last sea day before we Island hop...tried the golf simulator, Ukulele lesson, fruit/veggie demo, lecture on whales, sexy legs competition, movie Little Miss Sunshine, a comedy show.
