Took a day-trip up the northern coast.
Walked to the lighthouse at Norah's Head and then down to the beach and the rockpools below. Maddie collected shells and played in the sand.
Drove further down the coast to a town called The Entrance. Strange name for a town and a very strange claim to fame. They seem to take great pride in feeding the resident pelicans. At the same time every day, a team of volunteers bring some fish and lure the pelicans out of the water to feed them. The pelicans are really quite big and in their excitement to catch the fish, were flapping their wings in the faces of the people sat in the front row. We couldn't help think it was like feeding pigeons in Trafalgar Square, but on a much bigger scale - both in terms of the bird and what they were eating!
