This morning we woke up really early and proceeded to conquer the highest peak in Panama, Volcan Baru. We had no problem getting up (or down for that matter) and spent a long hour and a half on the summit enjoying the view of the Pacific ocean to our west, the Atlantic ocean to our east, far into Costa Rica on our north and almost to Panama city on our south.

After getting back down to Boquete (where we are now) at 4 o clock we had our customary victory meal of tipico (typical food). The food was great and incredibly cheap, but on the wall they had this one picture of a big tempting banana split. It seemed a little out of place seeing as we were in a typical Panamanian restaurant but we went for in anyway. The lady gave Jules and weird look when she asked for it and a couple seconds later she had the whole kitchen staff come out to look at the picture to see if they could figure out what it was and then hopefully make it. They actually pulled it off pretty well but we had to stop one of the ladies when she came out and grabbed a bottle of maple syrup from one of the tables. Tomorrow we will be catching an express bus through the night to Panama City to spend the last couple days of our adventure... stay tuned!
