I've finally made it to Samara, my home for the next five weeks. This place is great!! It is absolutely beautiful, I'll post some pictures as soon as I can. Not only is it beautiful but the place is so peaceful and there are almost no tourists here! The locals are really cool too, every night as the sun is setting they get together and play soccer on the beach and you have to do to fit in is just let'm know that you know the unofficial Costa Rica phrase, Pura Vida (Pure Life). The school I'm studying at is awesome too. The teachers are great, the walk is only five minutes from my homestay and the school is 20 feet from the water. Speaking of the water the waves here are probably the most mellow in this entire northwest region of Costa Rica, but mellow for Costa Rica is still good and they are completely uncrowded! Back to the school, last week in Heredia I was studying the preterite verb form in level 5 and after a brief oral and written test here in Samara they moved to level 8, so I'm not sure I'll be surfing as much as I planned do to this leap in difficulty, but Spanish is my main reason for being here, so that is a good thing. The only thing that I don't like about Samara is the internet is 5x the price for 1/2 the speed. Talk about a rip, but hey at least I have some sort of contact to the outside world. Well I must be off, the surf is up, but hey you'll hear more from me soon.
