Map of Jackson Hole    *Rustic Inn is located above the Hwy 26 on the map

 MAY 17: Jackson Hole
We coached through Grand Teton National Park, Jackson Lake and Jenny Lake before our arrival in Jackson Hole.  The Rustic Inn was the best hotel on this journey; the accommodations were generous with nice linen, double-sink bathroom, and the other necessities packed into individual log cabins.

We actually had a leisure day in Jackson, but some of us braved the cold on the Snake River raft ride for a couple of hours.   It rained while on the raft ride, and it was a good thing the operators of the raft had ponchos and blankets to keep us somewhat dry and warmer.

We saw beaver dams and eagles while cruising through some tame waters.

Their visitors center across the street from our hotel is well done - with stuffed animals and information on the history of the area.

Our group was treated to the Bar-T wild west show and dinner in Cache Creek after riding on covered wagons, some drawn by cyclade horses.   Indians rode horses to surround the wagons, shoot their guns, and pretty much made loud vocal noises.
Their beans were very good, and I had two servings of it.   The show was a singing and instrumental group that would probably rate about a 5 out of 10.   I guess most of us just chalked it up to "experience" of the old west.

On our second evening for dinner, my wife and a dentist from Maryland went to Nikai, a Japanese restaurant.
 Link to Nikai;

No Asian chef or staff in the restaurant,, but the food and service were above average.   They have a Caucasian woman chef (not there when we were there) who taught the others to prepare Japanesek/Asian food.   Considering the food quality and service, I'd rate them a 8-star restaurant out of 10.
