Feb 3, 2012: Completed my blog on the MS Marina's Caribbean 10-day wine cruise last month.  It was really a good journey with nice warm weather, peaceful cruising, good wine and food, and many new acquaintances.   The most memorable part of this cruise was our visit to the Dominican Republic where we took the cruiseline's optional tour to the world's largest cigar factory where 4700 workers product over one million cigars every week, and the art colony that was constructed in 1971, but looks centuries old.   My friend and I are looking for other cruises with Oceania, and another trip to Cuba.   My wife and I will probably do a National Parks tour in late April with the Tour Director I met on my first Australia trip about 18-years ago.

Dec 20: My blog should reach 25,000 hits by year's end; it's an accomplishment that I'm proud of, because I have fans visiting my blog from all around the world.   As most of you already know, I've completed six journeys this year with two visits to Cuba.   It feels like it was a whirl wind of travels from the Southern Caribbean to Australia, to Cuba, Mexico, Turkey, Poland, Czech Republic, and Germany.   I will more than likely slow down on the number of trips beginning next year, but would love to continue with more cruises where one has to unpack only once to see different destinations during any one journey.   I hope you have enjoyed my travel blogs, and please continue to visit in the future.   A HAPPY HOLIDAY SEASON, MERRY CHRISTMAS, AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR to all my fans across the globe.   See you next year.

Oct 27: Getting ready for my trip to Poland and the cruise from Prague to Hamburg.  I'm still working on my Turkey blog, and will try to complete Mexico City and Cuba before my trip at the end of this month.   I informed my friend who arranges our trips to Cuba to include me at least once-a-year from now.   I love the fact that they have great sites to visit, friendly people, good food and drinks at reasonable prices, stay at nice hotels, and the whole trip doesn't cost a fortune.

Sept 8: Locked in my second trip to Cuba.   HURRAY!

September 4: Trying to get ready for my journey to Turkey on the 19th.   Just want to make sure I don't forget the important stuff like $$$, my cameras, medications, and enough clothes to last for two weeks.   It'll be relatively easy, because the climate in Turkey will be constant - like hot.   Long pants for mosques, and shorts for almost everywhere else.   Lot'sa t-shirts, polos, sports shirts and shorts.   I'm going to try to visit the Asian side of Istanbul on this trip, because I've done Aya Sophia, Blue Mosque, the Great Bazaar, and the spice market a zillion times with an equal number of pictures, so I can skip them without any regrets.   Looking forward to Cappadocia and the southern seaports of Turkey.

Was trying to get my friend to allow me to join him for another trip to Cuba between my Turkey and Poland trip, but haven't heard back from him.

July 28: I'm off to Australia on Aug 3, and will return on Aug 19.   I booked this one as a last minute deal, so got a pretty good price on it.   Will begin our tour in Melbourne, followed by Adelaide, Alice Springs, Uluru, Cairns, Port Douglas, Great Barrier Reef, Cape Tribulation, and ending in Sydney.   I'll be taking my tablet computer with me, and hopefully will be able to post my travelogue while on the trip.

Australia turned out to be on the expensive side, so any savings from the last minute deal was spent very quickly.   $50 fish and chips w/beer, and $20 drinks at the Blu bar at the ShangriLa hotel in Sydney were only matched by the costs in Norway last year.

Booked two more trips for next year.   In January, I'll be on a 10-day wine cruise to the Caribbean on Oceania's new ship, the Marina.   Then on April 8, I'll be on a 7-day wine river cruise in Southern France.   I'm not sure yet whether I'll accompany the group on the pre and post trips.

May 31: I have revised my flight back home from the Poland and cruise from Prague to Hamburg from Nov 17 to Nov 20 to spend time with Walter and Ulla in Hamburg.

May 21: I have returned from Cuba and Mexico City, and will try to complete my travelogue by the end of next week.   Please stay tuned; you will not be disappointed.

May 9: I'm off to Mexico City tomorrow for ten days.   I'm off for (Syria was canceled) and Turkey on September 13 for 22 days.  On October 31, I'm off to Poland, and a cruise from Prague to Hamburg.   On January 3, 2012, I'll be on another Oceania wine cruise with the same roommate.   We're trying to plan a family cruise on Princess for one week in Alaska for August, but I'm not sure it'll work out.   Many of my older brother's kids works for the state, and they're laying off workers.

Mar 11: I'm not sure if this is correct, but it seems by my fan map that I still have fans in Tunisia looking at my blog.

Mar 5:  Also, I have fans in most of Europe and all of Scandinavia, Peru, Chile, and Brazil, Mexico, Canada, Russia, India, Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, Australia, Iran, Pakistan, Oman, and Philippines.

Feb 26: Finished the 26-day Tahiti to Ft Lauderdale cruise, and the Mexican Riviera cruise of Oct 2008.  Also, now have fans in Sweden.

Feb 18: The Vietnam blog is now completed.

Feb 17: I've completed most of my blogs on Vietnam, but I'm going back to add commentary to them from notes I found recently.  I'm now working on Ho Chi Min/Saigon.   The last one will be Mekong Delta on this series.

Feb 15: My travelpod blog hit 10,000 hits as of today!

Feb 11: I'm working on my blog on Vietnam by cities.  It took me several hours just to organize the +2,000 photos, and must now go back and edit them.   I have pretty much finished with Hanoi, the first city we visited.   The next one is on Halong Bay which I'll try to complete tomorrow.

I have fan(s) in Pakistan.

Feb 10: I have finished the travelogue on Japan, one on the SF Cherry Blossom Parade of many years ago, and a driving tour to Monterey Bay Acquarium, Los Angeles-Hollywood, Catalina Island, Disneyland, and San Diego.   Unless I find more photo albums or loose photos in our storage shed or garage, this may be the last of my past journeys.

Thanks to all of you, I'm now averaging 70 hits per day.   I used to think getting 10 hits a day was really great.

I'm now in the planning stage for a trip to Cuba in early May, a group tour to Iceland, and the able2know Meet I'm organizing for late May, because Walter and Ulla are coming from Germany.   I would also like to do a river cruise in Europe in the spring.
Also looking into a 7-day cruise to NE Canada.

February 8: I'm now working on our journey to Japan in 1981.  I will try to complete in a couple of days.

February 4: I just completed my 1990 June journey to Scandinavia, Paris, Brugge, and Brussels, and will begin scanning my pictures for the 1988 May Caribbean cruise tomorrow.  I should have that trip's travelogue completed within the next couple of days.  Please be patient, as this process will take some time.

Thanks for your interest in my travelogues.
I now have over 8,800 hits since mid-February of last year.

I will use this blog to update my travels for this year, and post some pictures that I believe represents the destinations I visit that will more or less summarize the journey.

This will also be the blog where I will inform people where I will be traveling to during the year.

The 10-day wine cruise planned for January 3, 2012,  from Miami to the Western Caribbean on the new Oceania ship, Marina, has been booked.  Alex will be my roommate on this cruise.

I would also like to visit able2know friends in Chicago, and possibly to Boston and/or New York that will be a pre or post visit with a cruise to north-east Canada.

Also browsing travel brochures and the internet for more trips in 2011 and 2012.

As of January 30, 2011, travelpod stats shows my travel summary as 157 cities and 55 countries.   The actual count is 161 foreign countries and 493 cities.

Feb 11, 2011:I might go back to the older posted blogs, and edit them by cities visited, since I've run out of photo albums - for now.   This will be a tedious process, and will take some time to complete.
