Out of the 19-days on tour, four days were spent traveling between India and Nepal, and a good portion of the time was spent on the bus from one destination to the next - often where roads were non-existent.   Roughing it doesn't begin to describe how we were shaken, rattled, and rolled from one destination to the next, but the total experience was full of surprises, contrasts, and attractions.   Up until then and for many years after this trip, I have felt that the Taj Palace hotel in New Delhi was the best hotel I have ever had the pleasure to occupy for two nights.   We have also stayed in some modest hotels, but travel to India is not about the quality or quantity of hotels; it's about the history, amazing sites, and the Taj Mahal.

My personal physician is from New Delhi, and I showed her my vacation photo album on my first appointment for the annual physical.   As soon as she saw the picture of the Taj Palace hotel, she said "that's where my sister was married!"

I have made reservations to visit India again, but this time it's going to be South India, in November for 24-days.   The tour will begin in Chennai and end up in Mumbai.

Enjoy; you can click on any picture or page to increase its size.
