What I did
Krematsi & Rhodes Town
Once again, the map didn't really tie up with the signposts, so we had an element of magical mystery tour going on lol.
We got to Krematsi, the lesson was booked for 1pm, we were there about 12.15, so plenty of time to park, check in & have a little look around.
On checking in, there seemed to be no record of the booking (even though we rang to confirm before setting out). They said they could fit him in at 1.30pm for a 3 hour lesson. That seemed ok, so we sat down and watched other people getting ready & setting up kites. 1.30 came and went, 2.00 came and went, what was frustrating I think was that people kept arriving and setting up straight away
Nice coastal drive to the town, surprisingly, parking was fairly easy :-). We bought a ticket then headed into the old town. We were fairly hungry, we got pounced on by a waiter standing outside a nice looking boulangerie (i don't know what they call them in greek!). He took us to the roof top section, and wow, the menu was pricey, and you could not get pastries after 3pm!
We had a drink then headed off to find a crepe shop. We found one and I had a lovely apple and cinnamon crepe :-).
After that we headed for a walk around the town - really lovely, lots of little winding side streets to explore. A town with character. The castle grounds were very pretty, lots of cobbled paths. People were very friendly. We then wandered around the harbour, as the sun started to set, the harbour front began to get busy.
For dinner, we decided to head back to the delicious Mimis in Afandou. I tried the llesvetsi for dinner, delicious 'George?' was on form - a very charming waiter. I couldn't get over how good his english was, especially with our phrases with innuendo.
After dinner, we went back to Rhodes town (we had a slight detour through Falaraki). We found a couple of nice cocktail bars - they certainly do good cocktails in the med! It was amazing, all these streets that had looked derelict by day, all sprung to life at night.
We headed for the hotel just after 11, what a good day we'd had :-)
Can't believe it's our last full day tomorrow - holidays go too quick!
