New Year in Sydney, not as planned!

So we flew to Sydney on 30th December, and got a cab to Maroubra, a southern suburb of Sydney that is two beaches down from Bondi. We went here because we were staying with Alex and Lisa, which was cool. Their house was really nice, and made me see a different side to Sydney, ie. living by a beach and commuting to the city. Not a bad life!
As for New Years Eve, it wasn't what I pictured it to be. I had started my antibiotics, and Ad was suffering from the dreaded man-flu (much worse than bird flu). We went down to The Rocks and Darling Harbour, mixing with the thousands. Our spot was pretty good, with good views of the opera house and the bridge. Unfortunately we felt too rough to stick it out. I'm embarassed to say we ended up getting a cab back to the girls, leaving them there, to watch the fireworks on TV!!! Ah well, the last 3 months have been taking their toll I guess...
We moved out of the girls on the 3rd, after going to watch more rubbish cricket. At least the SCG is a nice ground. Also bumped into Manners, who went to Barrow Hedges, and Darren Hill, who I played alongside at Carshalton Athletic. Random!!! We're now staying in Coogee, another southern beach area. I still can't drink, and I'm dying to go out on the town. It's been almost 2 weeks!! At least my tan is improving. And my bank balance is better than it would have been. I'm thinking of doing some cleaning in the hostel to save me more money on rent before I go to Asia too. Me.... cleaning.... who would have thought it! I'll post again just before I leave Sydney, probably to report on the 20twenty, my amazing brown tan, and to commemorate the sad departure of Mr A Taylor esquire back to the motherland. Until then amigos, I bid you adieu!!!
