We drove down the West Coast Road (apparently one of the best drives in the world) that runs alongside the Tasman Sea. En route we stopped off at Cape Foulwind to see the Seal colony, then at the Punakaiki Pancake Rocks and Blowholes for a bit of lunch. Last stop was Greymouth, where we got the chance to buy some stuff for a fancy dress party with a Haloween theme.
The party was at Hotel Mahinahua, which is in the middle of nowhere and reminded me of Peter Kay's Pheonix Nights club. It is a bit of a dive but we got into the swing of things straight after our Roast Lamb and Venison dinner (for 3 quid). The controversy started when a new bus member, Jonas (Dane) had $70 stolen. Then Rogier (Dutch) had his video camera taken. There was a thief!!! The money turned out to be an accident, which was just one of those things. The camera never was found, so I presume it was one of the dodgy locals that were hanging around that night that had that away.
The night was pretty good but it would have been better without the controversy.
