Rotorua to Waitomo
Entry 6 of 67 | show all | print this entry |
In the morning we went to Te Puia - New Zealand''s most famous thermal area - where we saw the geysers explode, boiling mud pools, a kiwi bird, and a maori carving workshop. This place is wierd!!!
En route to Waitomo we had a random stop to see rabbits being sheered. Hilarious, although the girls weren't enjoying it too much...
The hostel was in the countryside. Both Ad and I prefer the non-city hostels. At this one we got a well nice twin room. We had a BBQ in the evening, although the burgers we bought were disgusting. Nice one Alex! Ah well, a crate of Waikoto beers helped us forget the burgers, as did the Vodka. The Danes and Swedes prepared a feast but we were still happy with our intake. It's a hard life....
