Proper entry to follow.
Okay, I know. I'm getting lazy. But to be honest although we've been here 5 days now (landed from Honolulu Thursday last, the 24th) we've been shit busy seeing the sights and trying to organise a Drive-Away with a local company. A Drive-Away is a deal where someone requires a car to be delivered to another location in the States and people, like myself, with nothing better to do, are given the car to deliver within a certain timeframe and mileage limit. All the driver pays for is petrol, and we all know how cheap that is over here. So we're hoping to secure a deal that will get us as close to New York as possible (we have a flight home from there in 2 weeks). As I say, we've been here 5 days. It's more time than I intended to spend in LA and time is now dragging on but we're hopeful something that suits us will materialise with the Drive-Away company soon (we had an option for a delivery to Chicago yesterday but turned it down hoping something more appropriate will come along.... a bit of a gamble). Anyway, I'll try keep you all posted but at this stage no matter what destination we'll be heading for we're sure to be moving at a fast pace so the likelihood of having web access with sufficient time to create an entry is slim. But you never know. I should be able to upload pictures for your viewing pleasure as they only take a second!
So, for now see the pictures I've posted of our time here in LA. After meeting my little sister, Rainy, who is going to accompany us on our jaunt across the States to New York, we switched into tourist mode and after a couple of very tiring days we managed to see most of the usual touristy highlights; Hollywood and all that goes with it, Beverly Hills & Bel Air, Downtown, Venice Beach (where we stayed) etc. To be honest, I'm glad I've seen LA but it wouldn't be my favourite spot; it's so massive and spread out, making getting around hard and time consuming. And as you'd expect it's so materialistic and impersonal; spending time here you realise how bullshit and false everything about LA is; everything is so obviously false and people are falling over themselves to be something they are not. It's just like in the movies. Really, it is.
Anyway, best go. I've just realised this is somewhat of a proper entry in it's own right! Ha.... I surprise myself with my jabbering.
