************************************** Update - September 2005 ************************************
I made it back to Vietnam, as part of another trip, in September 2005. Check out the entry for Nah Trang here. As an entry it's a lot better than this crap. Honest.
************************************** Update - September 2005 ************************************

Hello again!
We spent Christmas in a Vietnam sea-side town called Nah Trang about, 200 miles north of Saigon. The idea was to spend the time on the beach and relax for a week or so over Christmas. Bairbres idea the beach, not mine!! Unfortunately however it's the rainy season on the coast of Vietnam at present and we only got one day (Dec 23rd) of beach weather. We still enjoyed the time there. Christmas, as you might imagine, is so different over here. All days are the same. Even though the calendar said it was Christmas day and everyone, including the locals, knows it's Christmas day all shops and services are open and it's business as usual. Very strange for us but same same over here
I guess. There was no Superman on the TV for us Christmas afternoon! We did manage to get a Christmas roast in an English theme bar complete with Christmas cocktail! Anyway, seen as we were allowed (due to the laws of the land) we managed to have a few beers on Christmas night. Well actually we had to drown our sorrows after spending close on 100 Euro for about 15 minutes of phone calls to dear old Eire.
