Nearly Time To Go
Entry 1 of 19 | show all | print this entry |
A journey of a thousand miles starts in front of your feet - Lao tzu
As the title says, it's nearly time to go. Aside from a 5 week teaching stint in South Korea last December, I haven't gotten up to much since getting back from my round the world trip last August. It's amazing how one can get so busy doing absolutely nothing for extended periods of time. But by now I feel like a champion at it.
Anyway, I hear it is bad luck to detail an upcoming trip. Something about jinxing it, I dunno. But regardless, my trip looks like this. First up is a one-way flight to familiar territory in South Korea for another month teaching English. B, my travel buddy from my RTW trip, will be with me for this part. We'll then head to Beijing, China for a week after which B will head home (commitments, I guess) and I'll embark on a few weeks in China. That'll be followed by Mongolia, Russia and Eastern Europe. As plans presently stand I plan on getting a flight home from Prague a few weeks before Christmas. So I'll basically spend 10 hours flying to Korea and the best part of three and a half months heading back overland. Needless to say Looking forward to it. I've no idea if it'll actually work out as planned (have I really already jinxed it) but all the necessary preparatory work has been done, the hardest of which was securing my Russian visa.
And that's about it. Here's hoping you can come along for the ride, however long it lasts. Oh, and I'll also be posting details to my World is round website. So you might wanna take a look at that also? See ya on the road.

Before I set off on this trip I'd like to port you someway into the future and tell you that I've been fortunate to make it back, on not one but two different occasions, to South Korea & parts of China, all as part of another extended trip, a trip that allowed me to eventually finish off this trip. Intrigued? Cool. Continue checking out this Travelogue and come back to check out this 'other extended trip' I speak of here.
