Pretty nice breakfast at the hotel, one of the best of the trip. Afterwards Kendra and Chandler rode their bike back to the bike rental place to return Chandler's bike. Jasmine and I picked them up from there, and then we were off to the west again. Lucky to find a non-interstate going in the direction we wanted to go, and we drove through towns like Fredericksburg and then Mason where Kendra wanted to get out and walk around a bit. We did, and Jasmine and I met a guy selling banana bread. Continued on our way, found a town with grocery store for lunch supplies, and then an old fort just outside of town with a picnic area. Looked too perfect and had to stop. I took a tour with Jim in his golf cart (very cool tour, one of best of the trip), while the kids ate all the cheese and cut cucumbers. Then we were off for more driving through small Texas towns. Got to Pecos and discovered the hotel I hoped to stay was sold out, as we're dozens more in Carlsbad. Found a cool old hotel located I in an old bank, had a nice dinner along with some wine sampling. Met a couple guys there at the bar, and we hung out all evening. Girls went back to the room.
