Beautiful day to start. Nice breakfast at the hotel, then into town for a little walk about. Kendra noticed the two old men sitting in chairs in front of their shop, in the only shade left on the street, watching us as we made our way up and down the street. She was mortified when I chose to walk right past them. One spoke up noticing our foreignness but couldn't figure out where we were from. He ran a western knick knack shop, the other ran tours of the town. Very nice guys, even gave the girls a few souvenirs to take home, and me a bunch of ideas on what to see in town. Instead I headed off to Makers Mark distillery for a tour and some samples. Bought a few bottles and dipped them myself. Then we headed south where we unexpectedly came across Lincoln's birthplace and boyhood home. Later down the road we came across the expected Mammoth Cave, and later still the attractions of Nashville. In hindsight we probably should have opted to stay in downtown instead of by grand ole opry. Kendra found a great, although not authentic to Nashville, place to eat. And afterwards we walked down Broadway and observed the numerous honey tonks.
