Started out the day milking goats, and then making goat cheese with The Goat Cheese Lady, all arranged by Karen. Had lunch in Manitou, and then packed up and started drive east into Kansas. Unfortunately the Sand Creek Massacre site was closed when we got there. Kansas was flat as expected, but on highways still quite beautiful. By nights end we had to return to interstate in order to increase chance of finding a hotel still open.

States Visited: Colorado, Kansas*
Stops Made: goat cheese making, Manitou Springs, Sand Creek Massacre (missed)
Meals: breakfast @ Karen's; lunch @ Adams Cafe in Manitou Springs; no dinner
Accommodations: Super 8 Motel in Salina, KS
Miles Driven: 454 miles
Driven on Interstates: 30 (7%)
Drive Time: 8:24 (~54 mph avg)
Weather: coolish 80's in the morning, reaching high 80's by midday, but getting hot 100 degrees as we drove through Kansas
