Where I stayed
Made it back to the States on the 23rd and had enough time in Dallas to dig through my storage unit for warm weather clothes. Had a great Christmas with my family in OK and an awesome New Years in Dallas...or at least I think I did as things got a little fuzzy around 11PM for me. A buddy is letting me crash in one of his spare bedrooms as I am currently homeless, so not living on the streets is a good start to the new year.
The past three months were great and I know there will be people I met on this trip that I will keep in touch with for the rest of my life. So...in an effort to sum up my journey, here are some top travel experiences from the last 3 months:
Best Meal: My first meal in Argentina at La Quica was special as was my last meal in Argentina with my friends from the trip at Desinivel. Also had a great steak in Salta...
Worst Meal: Had some crap meals in Ecuador...but chicken foot soup in Mindo has to top it for the worst.
Best Bus Ride: All of the long distance bus rides in Ecuador except Ruta 40 were full bed buses, they were all good....Flechabus even gives you whiskey at night to konk you out.
Worst Bus Ride: Quito to Lima sucked, but I had a good travel companion to practice Spanish with. Ruta 40 was a bit disapointing, but I met the American girls, the Dutch girls and Kevin so even though the bus sucked...the company was great.
Best Hostel: No question...Hostel Lao in Mendoza.
Worst Hostel: Stayed at some crap places during the four day tour of the Salar....second night near the lake sucked....thank God for Ambien.
Most Memorable Night Out: Steve's birthday party, last night in B.A.
Best Photos: Tango pictures from B.A., goofy Salar pictures and some of the pics from Bariloche.
Favorite Bars: Club Level and NoBar in Quito were winners. SouthBar in Bariloche.
Had a great time and would be happy to respond to any questions....send me a PM.
Looks like I'm off to India to start a new position with my company...but that will require a whole new blog! :)
