We traveled across Missouri today following along side of the Missouri River.  This is truly the Heart Land of America, as we saw corn fields and farms mile after mile.  It was so beautiful.  We arrived in the afternoon and spent time touring the town.

Independence is a small charming town.  We visited Clinton's Soda Shop for ice cream, which is the site of Harry Truman's first job. We walked around the historic square where thousands in the past began their journey West, and Harry Truman started his political career.  Almost everything in this town was named after Harry Truman.

We visited the home of President Truman from 1919 until 1972, and his Presidential Museum & Library, which was built in 1957.
We also visited the Community of Christ Church which had a beautiful spiral steeple.
