Another great day of our adventure.  We took Gene to the airport as he was heading to St. Louis for a week and then Pam took George and I on a tour of Grand Forks.  We toured thed Grand Forks Air Force Base and got to see lots of planes.  Then we headed to Cabela's in East Grand Forks, Minnesota and took some pictures.  She showed us where the Red River (which flows North not South) flooded Grand Forks in 1997.  Hard to believe all the damage that it did.  She found a really nice quilt shop which I loved and bought some fabric.  Went out to Lunch at the Blue Moose Grill and then got a tour of Univ. Of North Dakota campus.  The highlight of our day was a tour of Engelstad Arena where the Univ. of ND Hockey teams plays.  The arena cost 104 million dollars to build back in 2001 and it was all donated by Ralph Engelstad.  A few details:  11,600 leather seats, pipe organ, marble tile from Italy and India, 300 televisions (even in the bathrooms) so you don't miss a play ever.

We left Grand Forks at 3:00 p.m. and drove 3 1/2 hours to Minot, ND for the night.

Tomorrow night we should be in Montana.

Pam & Gene Haskell on

I am so happy that you enjoyed your visit with us. George wore his Maine hockey shirt to view the UND Ralph Englestad Hockey Arena. No one said a word to him. Next time I hope you can come for a game and see the true spectacle of the Ralph Arena and we will buy you a better hockey shirt! Go UND!
Hugs and kisses, Pam and Gene
