Left Howe, IN this morning at 7:15.  I was driving the first 2 hours and I had planned to change drivers before Chicago.  Well, I didn't realized that the time zone changed before Chicago and there was no rest areas so I drove through Chicago during RUSH HOUR on 5 lane highway with white knuckles all the way.  George took over at a rest stop near O'Hare Airport and then I could relax.

Once out of Chicago/Rockford, IL area we got on Route 20 a beautiful scenic highway through miles and miles of corn. I've never seen so much corn and soybeans.  It was such a nice ride and of course I was just the passenger then.

We found the Field of Dreams in Dyersville, Iowa and it was everything that we thought it would be.  It still must be very popular as there was lots of families there with children.  Took lots of pictures and then we headed to our hotel in Independence, Iowa.  Today we drove 398 miles or a total of 1353 miles since Monday morning.  The next few days are going to be a lot shorter.

It's fun to "follow" you across the country via Facebook! The Field of Dreams looks neat. And you aren't very far from us!

Remember that I'm off on Friday. I have an appointment Friday morning at 8:15 but should be done with that by 9:00. Call me on my cell. And you are welcome to come tomorrow instead if you want. We have haircuts at 5:30 but will be home first. We could meet you at our house. Whatever you want to do!

We're looking forward to seeing you guys!
