The hot weather is on us in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico...
Everyone wants to walk on the shady side of the street...
It is a dry heat, San Miguel is in a desert, but the sun is very bright and hot at this high altitude and it really burns holes into you when you are in the sun - in the shade is not too bad.....
I have not written a travellogue blog since early Febryary..
I have just been too busy with other things..
My Spanish Classes, my Life Long Learning Classes on the history of Mexico and San Miguel. The International San Miguel Writers Conference. My dental appointments and dental work (dentist charges are much lower in Mexico and I get all of my dental work down in Mexico now). Dealing with Mexican Immigration - that is another story.... And a lot of other things that I am doing.... eg. 10 minute Play Festival, etc..
I also may be losing my fresh eye for San Miguel from being in San Miguel too long
and becoming overly familiar with this place... I was at a mini-conference here in San Miguel
and I went out for lunch with a girl from Mexico City (note: I refer to any female under 40
as a girl). I wanted to go for pizza but could not think of anyplace that was close by
that I knew about... On our way back from our nonpizza lunch she spotted 3 different pizza places that I had not noticed before (her fresh eye). And I wanted to pick-up a barbequed chicken to bring to a potluck dinner that we were having at the mini-conference that nite....... Again, I could not think of any barbequed chicken places close by. She spotted a barbequed chicken place (it was her fresh eye again)... She had never been to San Miguel before, it was her first time here in San Miguel and I live here - I must really be losing it (the fresh eye)...
Two years ago there was not a crime problem in San Miguel de Allende. Now, San Miguel is overrun by Banditos, Pistoleros, Desperados, Knifers, Druggies, and other undesirable types -and San Miguel has become a City of Fear and Terror - we do not live in a perfect world.....
Crime is everywhere, all of the time...
I started writing a travellogue blog in early February, the official start of spring in San Miguel,
with lots of pictures of flowers in bloom.. I just wanted to show Canadiians what San Miguel was like in Early February, when Canada was buried in snow and in a deep freeze..
The first weekend in February is considered to be Springtime in San Miguel,
which happens to be February 01 this year.It is a two week celebration referred to as the La Candelaria......Now it is summertime in San Miguel - there is no wintertime in San Miguel...
See the pictures below....
I tossed in some pictures at the end of people doing the ZUMBA in the park.
