Mis Estimados Compadres,
Amigos, Amigas, Compañeros y Compañeras:

Now. Here. This . Ahora. Aquí. Esta.

I am writing this Travelogue in the Mad House known as the Mexico City Airport....
There is lots & lots & lots of kids screaming their heads off, dogs barking like crazy (in cages waiting to be checked in) and people screaming and yelling into their cell phones..
They can't hear because of the noise...
It is a wonderful world and great to be alive - sometimes??????

I went through security. They did not send me through the full body screen and special treatment, of take off your shoes and your clothes stuff.. Usually they are very hot and eager to check out my whole body - and I cannot blame them for that.... Maybe I am starting to lose it... Or maybe there is a little bit of common sense being used.... How many suicide bombers are my age - people my age are usually smart enough to know not to get involved in that kind of nonsense....of course the fact that I look 20 or 30 years younger than my age may have been throwing them off...

The Federal Mexican Police (the Dreaded Federales) are out in full force in the Mexico City Airport.
They are dressed in completely black uniforms with peaked officers hats...They look very much like Nazi SS troops.... Their salute is even a little bit like the Nazi salute - not quite as high, more parallel with the ground/floor...
I think that I mentioned it before in a previous blog. Earlier this year - or was it last year (the Fall),
3 or 4 policemen were killed in a shotout between policemen in the Mexico City Airport. I guess the shotout was between Good Cops and Bad Cops - although it is difficult to tell which is which...

Going to San Miguel from Ottawa last December - 80% of the passengers seemed to be Mexican and most of the Air Canada staff seemed to be Mexican (ticket takers, stewardess.. Mexicans going back to Mexico for Xmas...
Going from Mexico City to Canada - less than 50% of the passengers seemed to be Mexican - it is not always easy to tell, because a lot of Mexicans do not look like Mexicans.. Not all of the English speaking passengers were Canadians - there were people from England, Germany, Russia, etc..
Probably people that were going back to Europe who did not want to go through the USA and putting up with all of that USA Immigration. Customs and Border Services Crap and Bullshit..

On the flight from Mexico City to Toronto there was a big, huge, humongous German sitting beside me who was laughing his head off at some stupid Hollywood TV Situation Comedy that he had on, and was watching on his screen. While I was watching a Real Man's movie on my screen - Bruce Willis in "Die Hard in Moscow" - that Bruce Willis is one really tough hombre...
Some little kid in the seat right behind me would let out a very loud scream every once in awhile...
I had my ear plugs in listening to Bruce Willis in ``Die Hard in Moscow`` and at first did not recognize and realize that the screaming was not in the movie but was that kid that was sitting right behind that was doing the screaming.. It did fit in with the movie that I was watching and listening to...
I think that the lack of sleep that I have been getting has made me very irritable and noise sensitive.. And I really do not enjoy traveling anymore and being surrounded by people that I do not know....

It has been some time since I have flown (not counting flying from Ottawa to Mexico
in December/2012). The last few times that I have been to Mexico, I have driven...
So this is the first time that I have flown into Canada in some time - it has been a few years.
And I was wondering - I checked my luggage in Mexico City for Ottawa - but I was entering Canada at Toronto and changing flights in Toronto for Ottawa.. When would I have to go through Canadian Customs and Immigration and if it was Toronto - how would they checkout my baggage that had been checked to go to Ottawa..

I had to go through Customs and Immigration in Toronto ...  I had to pickup/get my checked luggage in Toronto, go through Customs and Immigration with my luggage in Toronto and check my luggage in again for Ottawa.. I had to go through Airport Security again - you know, Terrorist always trying to blowup airplanes and all of that kind of stuff...They do have a system called ``Connections``, which does simplify the process to a certain extent....

I am now sitting in a ``Tim Horton`s`` donut shop in the Toronto Airport, waiting for my Ottawa Flight - having two Maple Dip Donuts (it is really great to be back in Canada), which makes it all worthwhile - and writing this travelogue blog on my laptop computer using ``Tim Horton`s`wireless internet connection... it is a great world and a great life if you do not weaken - you only live until you die..  This is the secure waiting area after getting through the terrorist security screening - no terrorists here, that I know of... surrounded by yelling, screaming children and kids getting their sugar high at ``Tim Horton`s`...

Getting checked out by Immigration and Customs in Toronto has the advantage that I had a 2 or 3 hour wait between flights in Toronto, so that was going to be dead time anyway. And when I arrive in Ottawa at midnite, I will be able to make a quick get away once I have gotten my checked luggage....

I have some complaints to make:
- my flight departing station was in the furthest corner and the longest distance away
in both the Mexico City Airport and the Toronto City Airport, and these are not small airports, the moving sidewalks helped out..
- my baggage was always the very last baggage to come out, how can that always be.... is GOD mad at me or something...
- I had to show my passport at least 4 to 5 times in each airport, each time I packed my passport away, thinking that would be the last time that I would have to show my passport and I was wrong...
I am paranoid about picking up my checked luggage because of past bad experiences...

Ten years ago, flying to Mexico, some one took my bag by mistake both going to Mexico and coming back. Fortunately, there was long lineups at Immigration and Customs both times and I had a chance to checkout the people in the lineups and spot my bag..  One guy refuse to admit it was my bag (a Canadian from Montreal) and I had to repeatedly ask him to open it to prove to me that it was not my bag... Finally his wife and the other couple with him got onto his case to open the bag - and it was my bag of course.. I think that he was irritated that I had interupted his conversation - because he was a motor mouth type of guy (besides being a complete idiot) who could not stop talking and he was the type of guy that had to always be in control all of the time.. his problem then was to find and get his own bag... I also think that many people are or get very hyper in airports, even if it is not obvious or apparent...
The last time I flew, a few years ago - someone took my luggage off of the conveyor belt thinking it was their luggage I guess - realized their mistake - but did not put it back on the conveyor belt.. they left it laying on the floor....
I waited, and waited and waited for my luggage to come around on the conveyor belt until the conveyor belt was completely empty - panic situation - I walked around the conveyor belt and spotted my luggage laying on the floor where someone had left it laying there... ....  ....
Why, why ,why, why do I have to live in a world of idiots and imbeciles......
Why, why, why, why can`t everyone in the world be as smart as I am......

So my day started at 5:45am, when I got up late for the taxi and ended the next day at 1:00am in the morning - 19 hours later.. I had made the transition from Mexico to Canada, and my alternate life in Canada... and I had got to see a Bruce Willis movie - ``Die Hard in Moscow`` and that Bruce Willis is one really tough hombre - I wish that I was more like him - he seems to have a more interesting life - always killing people who bother or annoy him....
