Mis Estimados Compadres,
Amigos, Amigas, Compañeros y Compañeras:

Now. Here. This . Ahora. Aquí. Esta.

I am realizing now that I have watched very little TV in the last two years - I have had other things that I have had to do or wanted to do - and I do not find TV very interesting any more....
Now that I am watching TV as a tool to learn Spanish I realize that things have changed since I used to watch TV. Saturday nite alive is only one hour long, not one and half hours long when I use to watch it. I do not even recognize "60 Minutes" - they seem to have a completely new cast of characters, and it may be my imagination, but CNN does not seem to as good as it once was when I use to watch it....
They are very early episodes of Seinfeld - both George's father and Jerry's father are played by different actors - the later actors that play George's father and Jerry's father have a far greater screen presence than the first actors that played those parts...And their mothers are no where to be seen. Watched "Hart to Hart" with Robert Wagner - he sure looks young now - funny how my perspective has changed with time..
Do not get the idea that I am watching a lot of TV - 2 hours at the very most in a day and many days - no TV.... And I do not think of it as watching TV - I think of it as studying Spanish and trying to improve my Spanish...... ..

I sleep in my bedroom with the bedroom door to my terrace open at nite. This morning, a bird flew into my bedroom and flew around a few times and then had the good sense to leave and flew out the door again...

There is construction going on next door - it is interesting watching their construction techniques from my terrace. A string with a weight on the end of it that they hang down beside the wall to see if it is going up straight.. A glass of water with a line around it at the top that they use to see if the wall is level..  A pipe that they put water in and put on the wall to see if the wall is even - if water is running out one end or the other end of the pipe - the wall is not even.... These were probably the same types of techniques that they use to build the Pyramids in Egypt 5,000 years ago (3,000 BC) or the pyramids in Mexico 2,000 years ago (around 100 BC or 100 AD)....

There is a lot of banks, real estate firms, art galleries and restaurants in San Miguel... Bus service is excellent.
Buses go by every 10 minutes for each route - so sometimes there will be 3 or 4 buses going by on the street altogether, for 4 different bus routes.. Bus fare is 5 peso's (40 cents).. The streets are flooded by taxi's - all the same colour - green - taxi fares are 30 peso's ($2.40).... Big English public library (biblioteca) - biggest English library in Latin America... Many, many, many fiesta's and parades. Just found out that 80 different Ambassador's for 80 different countries' embassies in Mexico City come to San Miguel every year to have a celebration for their country in San Miguel..
They want some exposure for their country in an international known and recognized city like San Miguel...  Also Ambassador's like to get freebies, so coming to San Miguel on the pretext that they are getting exposure for their country in an internationally known and recognized city like San Miguel, is a good excuse for them to have a holiday in San Miguel... San Miguel is a very popular tourist destination for the people in Mexico City... The Russian Ambassador was in San Miguel last week and had a reception in a Restaurant that I frequent on a regular basis - the Monet...
He had his reception there because the Restaurant Manager is a Russian...I wasn't invited to the reception... When I went there on Sunday to have a meal, I did notice that the restaurant was closed for a private party...  I am going to have to find out if the Canadian Ambassador has a celebration for Canada in San Miguel... Apparently there are 40 different ethnic groups in San Miguel - some of the ethnic groups are from other Latin American countries....  .

Viva La Mexico
Adios Mis Compadres
y Mis Amigos, Amigas, Compañeros y Compañeras,
