Toller lives in a compound complex of 5 houses and
he rents out some of the rooms and one house...
The rooms and house that he rents out are filled with his art work and
the people living there are not allowed to touch or move any of his art work
that is in their room or house......

Toller sort of hosts the tour of his compound complex..
I was a little bit surprised at how small he is.....
And he does like to talk...... especially about himself...

Toller Cranston works with oil paints, glass and ceramics.

They say that Toller Cranston is very tempermental and can be very rude, insulting and nasty....
I do think that he does have that look about him.... a spoiled brat, baby or boy look.....
Apparently Toller does not get along with his mother...

It is a little bit like the emperor's invisible clothes, if you can't see the emperor's invisible clothes there is something wrong with you..If you do not say and think that Toller Cranston's art is marvelous, unique, original, fabulous and that Toller Cranston is a genius - you are identifying yourself here in San Miguel as a hick that knows nothing about art. Therefore, just like in the story about the emperor's invisible clothes, everyone says that Toller Cranston's art is marvelous, unique, original, fabulous and that Toller Cranston is a genius, because nobody in San miguel wants to identify themselves as a hick that knows nothing about art.

Apparently Toller had Margaret Atwood and the Canadian Ambassador to Mexico over for diner when they were in town - I wasn't invited.......

English speaking people that you meet in San Miguel are almost without exception, world travelers who have travelled a lot and have been to many different places in the world.
It is different than the English speaking population in the English colony in Lake Chapala/Ajiji, near Guadualajara. There most of the English speaking people have not travelled all that much. There are of course exceptions, I can think of at least one couple there that have travelled around the world that live in Ajiji...But in general, the people that I have met in Chapala/Ajiji are not world travellers...
An obscure book that I have read on The Year That China Discovered The World,
I have meet 4 or 5 people in San Miguel that have read that book - it was written a few years ago...
That would not happen in Lake Chapala/Ajiji or Ottawa....
The English Speaking people I have met in San Miguel have tended to be creative types - artists, sculpturers, writers, muscians, or just people that get around a lot and do a lot of things..interesting people, although some of them can be a real pain........
