Apparently Anado is a world famous artist according to the people in San Miguel.
I went to the opening of his Chapel or Temple for Jimmy Ray, who is a mythical person,
Anado's mythical muse.
Anado's art seems to be based on being shocking, over the top and outrageous...
To me it just seemed to be tacky.
The people of San Miguel seem to be enthralled by his art, creativity and genius...
There were 100's, maybe even 1,000's of people, at his opening - I was one of them...
There were three structures on a large lot - a very artsy outhouse, an art gallery and a gift house.
All three were pieces of art in themselves and were filled with shocking, outrageous and over-the- top art pieces.......
A troupe of 40 actors from an experimental actor's troupe from Mexico city provided 40 mimes at the opening provided a surreal and unreal atmosphere to the whole event...
I have heard second hand, but want to confirm it from someone who was actually there and saw it themselves - that near the end of the opening - all of the mimes took off all of their clothes and were walking around naked....Obviously I left the opening too early......

I do not know who buys this art but it is not the people that I know or hang out with....
I have mentioned this to several artists that I know in San Miguel, it is not a very popular thing to say in San Miguel, and I always get the same or very similar response - a look of disapproval and the comment that his art is very unique and that not everyone is able to fully appreciate it...
I agree that it is unique, but that does not make it particularily good or desirable. Maybe the other artists admire and respect him because he does have the courage and guts to do art the way he wants to do it, regardless of what other people may think of it......

I belong to several San Miguel discussion groups now - actually I do not really belong to them, you just go to them....and I am going to them. One of them has particularily interesting topics:
eg. - what social changes have occured in your life time/ Note: when you have been around for a long time, not old but have been around for a long time like me, I have seen a fantastic number of major social changes in our society - very interesting topic....
     - describe a life changing event that has occurred in your life... these topics make you think...

Am going on a day trip tomorrow with some friends to see some pyramids that are about a three hour drive away from San Miguel - apparently it is a 5 pyramids complex built on the side of a mountain, each pyramid higher than the next one - there are 1,000's of pyramids in Mexico - I do not intend to see all of them......
