It is in the low 20's (centigrade for my U.S.A. amigo's - in Fahrenheit it's in the low 70's), sunny and everyone here is complaining about it being chilly ( I wish them a Merry Xmas when they complain about it being chilly)..... some people are always complaining about something and some people like and enjoy complaining...... but not everyone likes listening to people complaining......

I will have to check the Ottawa, Canada weather report on my laptop computer to see how things are shaping-up in Canada  - think it is about -7 below zero.

Spent Xmas morning Skyping my grandchildren in Toronto and Calgary and my children too,
it is starting to get harder to think of my children as being children when they have their own children, their own houses and their own careers and they are in their 50's and are also almost over the hill themselves (figure that one out, my Amigo's).....

Have been invited to a Xmas party - a pot luck - at noon on Xmas day that I am going to go to...
They estimate that there will be about 60 people there....
Going to a Xmas party where I do not know anyone there is not really that much fun for me.
It is almost like going to a business meeting for me.
I am going to the party to make contacts, connections and to start establishing myself
as part of the English speaking community here in San Miguel....
To establish myself in the English speaking community here in San Miguel, I will have to meet with people and see and be seen and eventually I will start to connect with a few of these people, not many but a few......have sort of connected with two already - Leon from Virginia and Navan from Connecticut....and have met a Dennis from Ottawa who has spent the last 10 years here in the winter and goes back to Ottawa for the summers and is very familiar with the Vanier area of Ottawa where I many people here do....

The Xmas party must be in a millionnaire`s mansion if it can accommodate at least 60 people.
Part of it will be an open court yard in the middle of the square (cube) structured Mexican house...
There is very many millionaires in Mexico - very many very rich Mexicans. Sometimes it makes you wonder about things.  And their wealth is very apparent in the types of mansions that they live in and in contrast to the very poor that are also everywhere in Mexico...

Downtown San Miguel is flooded with very poor people who are begging for money - and often they look very pitiful. The tourist probably attract the beggars because the tourist are probably easy marks that are horrified by the apparent poverty and the very pitiful look of the many beggars - especially the children....Note: many of the beggars are very, very, very old women and men and very young children.  And 10 or 20 peso`s is not much to us rich Gringo`s ($1 or $2) but is a lot of money for the very poor.... Note: there are beggars everywhere that I have been in Mexico...

I often find that these types of parties are boring and tiring.... probably because I find a lot of people are uninteresting, boring and tiring and when I do not know who is who, I have to and I end up spending a lot of my time with uninteresting, boring tiring people until I do start finding out who is who..... will get back to you on this Xmas party on a later travelogue......

And remember:

This is not the season for getting...
It is not the season for giving....
It is the season for being grateful for what we have....
  - I have my good health, and will continue to have it, God Willing, for the rest of my long life...
  - And I have my financial well being,
and will continue to have it, God Willing, for the rest of my long life.

And Remember to Love People
And Use Things....

Not Use People, and
Love Things......

Adios Amigo's

I believe in God if it is concenient to do so.....

Also, adding that it will happen if "God Is Willing" is like taking out a little bit of extra insurance - if he does exist, maybe he will help me out a little bit just to prove to me that he does exist... it is a little bit like challenging God to prove to me that he does exist - let's see if he responds to my challenge.......

Dave, interesting that a man as your self asks that God prove hisself to you. Every time you breath in and out is that not proof of God. When you think, speak, talk, walk, is that not proof of God. Can you not see God in every form of life you see, hear, touch, taste, smell, and sense? The fact that you form thoughts should be evidence enough of God.

Thank You Gord for taking the time and making the effort to give me your thoughts on this matter and impartring some of your great wisdom onto me. Your input is greatly appreciated... and I shall give your thoughts and comments the consideration that they deserve.....
