For one, I wanted to do an "overnight" somewhere with the kids, and for two, well, I happen to like Tacoma, its beautiful setting, its easy-to-get-around size, and all the things there are to do. Like, Pt Defiance Zoo, which I learned is only a small part of Pt Defiance Park.
And like the Glass Museum, which has a Hot Shop the likes of which I don't think even exist anywhere else in the world
The Glass Bridge is a lovely pathway connecting the Glass Museum and the State Museum, and the State Museum is on a downtown street across from the Tacoma branch of the University of Washington, a tree-lined street that is, with the cutest little electric train shuttling you back and forth for FREE.
Zounds! Even with an overnight we don't have enough time to properly visit both the Museums, and the Hot Shop doesn't open till 1 PM on Sundays, so, we go for the Glass Bridge (as good as church!), and then, move on.
