Ideas by the Garden
Trip Start Mar 07, 1997
95Trip End Dec 25, 1998
Why is Ron so darn popular? Because he's an internationally acclaimed floral designer, that's why. And his topic today is "Flowers from Countryside to Castle," so that pretty well covers the possibilities.
The lecture series is one of the best features of the show - Saturday's lineup includes Rob Proctor, author of eight gardening books (he'll be happy to autograph his latest, Herbs in the Garden). Speakers will discuss everything from bee keeping to water gardening, so if you want to try something new this year you'll surely get your imagination tingled.
If a picture is worth a thousand words, then the real thing is priceless, and the show also offers 24 gardens to browse and study. Ranging in size from 300 square feet to 1,500, these are genuine idea sparkers. Some are formal and some are simple back-yard habitats. Some are tropical and some Victorian. Many of them highlight design trends - you'll see the latest use of sculptures, benches, and arbors.
And of course the show has all the traditional stuff you expect to find at a lawn and garden show, spread out among 250 vendors from twelve states. Isn't it time to replace last year's grubby gloves, and maybe invest in some knee pads, so you can really get down to business? See you there.
