Hot-Town in Every Way

I LOVE Atlanta but have only visited the capitol once out of all those times. It's near the Coca Cola exhibit (headquarters Atlanta) and near the freeway and isn't too snazzy looking considering all the glitter surrounding. My CAPITOL visit was in 1993 as I had begun writing about capitals. I ate the best Fried Green Tomatoes I ever tasted in a restaurant at Underground Atlanta afterwards
Here's some stuff I have written about Atlanta.
Georgia was the FOURTH state.
Date: January 2, 1788
State nickname: Empire State or Peach State
Key Words: Modern, Battleground, War, Skyscraper, King, Hot
Delaware, Pennsylvania and New Jersey are close together, but Georgia is far to the south. Look at the map! Why do you think it became the 4th state?
Atlanta did not become the capital until 1877. It began as a railroad terminal in 1837, and during the Civil War, it was burned to the ground! So it is a new modern city. The capitol dome is covered with gold that was brought by wagon from Dahlonega, site of the country's first gold rush.
Major sports teams in Atlanta are the Braves and the Falcons. Atlanta is home to CNN, and hosted the Olympics in 1996. President Jimmy Carter's library is here, as well as the grave of Martin Luther King Jr. Stone Mountain and Six Flags are nearby.
