The book says this, and I must quote, there is so much to see I can't absorb it all, my mind's a technicolor show of awesome stuff.

"Going to the Sun Road, 50 miles in length. Winds alongside Lake McDonald for 10, serene and quiet. Then a busy spot, Lake McDonald Lodge, rustic accommodations about a mile from the lakehead. A few miles further on, McDonald Creek, and then the roaring McDonald Falls. (We'll stop here when we come back down, I promise Andrew.) The road winds on and mountain walls appear. At 16 miles, cross Avalanche Creek, the Trail of Cedars there. Wind through McDonald Valley now, avalanche chutes, long slopes cleared of forest. Now a vista of the Garden Wall, its section of the Continental Divide ahead. The roadway may be seen, high on the flanks of Haystack Butte. Pass Logan Creek, ascend 3,000 feet for the next 11 miles. The West Side Tunnel. A turnout at The Loop. Now see Heavens Peak and valleys to the north. Eight mile from The Loop to Logan Pass, alpine vistas, treeline left below. The highway hugs walls and cliffs. Waterfalls, Weeping Wall and Bird Woman Falls."

For me and Andrew, a lot of oohs and ahs. It's dry today, no waterfalls, the springtime would be best for that. But gold is everywhere, on every trees, the golden leaves reflect the golden sun, shimmer, flutter to the ground. Can you believe we'll drive up THERE? The road is steep, and loops around, I can't look down, I say, you look for me.
