So as many of you know, I basically sat down a few months ago and made a place of the places that I wanted to see. I didn't write any notes to indicate to myself why I wanted to go to these various places. So next I had written Hamburg. I couldn't remeber why, but I trusted myself and hopped on the train.

I got here and got super lost almost immediately. I must have neglected to write down all of the instructions to get to my hostel while I was booking it, or something, I don't know. I alked around for an hour or so, but eventually found it. This seems to be a common theme for me, I get lost in all the cities that don't speak English as much. This was also the day that I chose to change the way I packed my bag, I thought maybe I could make it feel lighter. No, FAIL. I have brusises on my hips now.

My Hostel is located in the St. Pauli district. Seemed sketchy, a lot of cross bones and stuff, skulls, boat themes, pirates. This all struck me a s quite odd, I was thinking in my head, why do all the shops seem to have a pirate theme. I was also thinking to myself, why the ef did I want to coem here. Anyways as you can imagine, I was frustrated because I got lost and was frustrated that I had booked a room in stetchtown for two days.

As soon as I ventured out I realised why I decided to come here. It's the biggest port in all of Germany. THere are huge ships, larger than anything I ever saw in the Great Lakes. There are also many canals and old buildings. It's SO cool here. I really really like it. The food is cheap, and amazing and there are a tonne of parks. Hamburg is awesome. My hostel is also really great and not that sketchy at all.

My hostel mates were five boys from Norway. I knew that they were boys as soon as I checked into my room. I couldn't see trhe carpet because it was covered with clothes and dirty, smelly socks. And there was liquor everywhere. We ended up all hanging out and going out. They left this morning though, but we all got along so well that we'll be meeting up in AMsterdam in a few days. That's good because then I'll be able to go out with people I know.

Anyways I better end it here. I think I rambled a lot. Sorry.
