It is 5:28 p.m. on a Monday afternoon. I am in between my regular library shift and the 7:00 shift I am covering for Mukhtar. Right now I am eating left-over hummus and baba ganoush with bread I made the other evening. Baking bread in the dorms...perhaps an AUD first. You should have seen the look on peoples' faces when I offered them fresh baked bread, arms extended holding a tea-towel filled with sliced brown bread. Some here might call me (in the words of my mother) "a little strange" or "slightly bazaar" which you know actually means she's "a total freak."
I leave in a little over a week and I am quite upset with the fact that I have not yet been successful at bringing a recycling program (or at least a proper one...not the current "program" they have that allows recycling bins only in places that are not visible...similar to the book collection drive. yep.) to this campus. The director of central affair (quite a title for such a worthless position...not to be too harsh, but I have a little beef with the man...as far as I am concerned, his title should be changed to "director of only that which makes me more money") told me that the campus had past problems with recycling companies because they were asking the university to pay Final day of art class...boo

. Heaven forbid the university pay a company to pick up their recyclables. I mean, I always thought that recycling was something you do for environmental reasons...not because you want to make a pretty penny. Not to mention, I thought I was a part of a university, not a for-profit company...
meh.
'tis life.
I am not ready yet to leave as the time here flew by even faster than when I was in Japan. I am in the process of collecting email addresses, figuring out future plans to meet people in the states and elsewhere in the world, and of course saying my goodbyes. The thing that keeps my mind focused elsewhere is my travel itinerary for the next few weeks...Bahrain, Istanbul, Malta then Rome. I would say I can't wait because I am that excited, but I'm really not looking forward to leaving...
