Hey People

I am lying in bed in my hotel room right now because that is all I can do without wearing a diaper or strapping a toilet to my ass.  I drank some of the tap water served at the restaurant last night - big mistake - now I have what they call travelers diarrhoea and it isn't pretty.  I got up every 15 minutes last night to visit the great white throne and just when I thought I couldn't possibly have anything left in my stomach I went in for another round.
I knew there was a drug store around the corner from my hotel I was not even able to stand up for more than 30 seconds at a time.  After laying around all morning wondering if I was going to die a slow "Death by Diarrhoea" I suddenly got a glimmer of hope.  The cleaning lady knocked at the door and I dragged my weak body over to answer it hoping she would help me.  She spoke no English so in my best attempt at charades, I acted out my last 12 hours before becoming to weak and having to lay back down.  The lady said something to me in Arabic, grabbed her pale and proceeded to clean my floors and wash my windows then left.  That was not quite what I had in mind.
A few more hours passed and I was getting no better and now I was running out of water.  I decided to call the front desk to see if I could get an English speaking person to help me.  A man came on the line who spoke a bit of English and I was able to communicate to him that I was sick and needed help.  I told him I had diarrhoea but he did not understand.  I looked the word up in my Arabic phrase book but he still did not understand.  Next I used every word I could think of to describe it: toilet, runs, bathroom, etc.  He finally seemed to understand and told me that he would send up some medicine, yogurt and water.  I was so relived, help at last.
Fifteen minutes later the doorman showed up with a try full of goods and handed me some pills in paper packaging that did not say what they were for and told me to take two. I silently prayed to God that these were diarrhoea pills and not morning after or constipation pills before swallowing them down.
Its night time now and I am feeling much better, in fact, I am also able to eat - if you call a spoonful of yogurt and a sip of orange juice eating.  If I keep this up I will look like a supermodel in no time. I think by tomorrow I will even be able to walk around and check out the beautiful town of Lattakia
Take Care
