What a treat it was to visit Olduvai Gorge.  We wanted to get our old anthropology books out to remind us of what we had learned so long ago about early man. We visited there as we left Ngorongoro Crater and were ultimately headed to the Serengeti Plains.

The Great Rift passes through Olduvai and that is what made it an anthropologist's/archaeologist's heaven for discoveries.  There is a small museum there which was interesting to visit and there is also someone who gives small talks about the Leakeys and the discoveries they made as well as
anthropologists that followed them.
