The animal life here is pretty spectacular with what supposedly claims the highest density of mammalian predators in Africa. We saw hyena, tons of lions, jackals, elephants, zebras, waterbuck, wildebeest, and hartebeest. We even, distantly, saw a black rhino. What we missed were cheetah and leopard and cape buffalo, but they are supposed to exist here as well. What is also amazing are the huge dust clouds of sand and volcanic ash which formed each day we were at the park. The lodge we stayed at perches on the crater rim and we were able to observe some beautiful sunsets here.
This is definitely a must stop destination of you are visiting Tanzania.
