Where I stayed
We did, however, have a chance to tour the Karen Blixen (Isak Dinesen) Museum. The museum was her home and the site of a large coffee plantation which existed on the grounds. She was the author of the famous memoir "Out of Africa" which became famous by a film of the same name. We also had a chance to visit the Giraffe Center where I kissed a giraffe! It was fun but I don't know what got into me. The Center was established in order to protect the endangered Rothschild griaffe that is only found in the grasslands of East Africa
Our last evening in Nairobi we had dinner at Carnivore's Restaurant where they served a variety of African wildlife....crocodile, zebra, various types of antelopes. I'm not sure I liked the experience as the animals are so beautiful. We were assured that the animals were actually being raised for this purpose. I stuck with the non-meat dishes.
Following our short stay in Nairobi and a visit to a women's cooperative jewelry enterprise we headed out for Sweetwaters Camp and Ol Pejeta Conservancy to view chimpanzees and a black, captive Rhino, Moroni.
