Where I stayed
Thai Hoa Beach Resort
We are very excited....especially after last night’s digs, when we see the palm lined gardens lead to a pool (yay!) and the beach beyond that. Our room even has patio furniture......patio furniture and a pool, people! We are flashpackers tonight!
After we wash the journey off we have a nice beer with our fellow bus mate, Jason (he did not love VT so much either, funnily enough he went there especially for the Beach Club and couldn't find it!)
The next day we get a bit beach happy and spend too long in the water
That evening after the blazing sun has left our skin smarting from exposure, we climb the dunes behind the resort which Mui Ne is famous for. The climb is quite steep and we all get a bit jumpy after we pass a sign warning of blasting in the area (we are not sure if this is bad translation for UXO’s or if they actually do blasting around here). This is also shortly after a conversation about the UXO’s in Cambodia and Laos. We get to the top and are rewarded with a beautiful moonrise and a great 360 degree view of the area.
The next night we venture into town for a ‘phat burger’ (they were better than GBK!) and then onto a bar which I would expect to find in LA or Cape Town. It is a stunning place.
The 29th (my sister’s birthday!) is our last day and by far the hottest. We make the most of the air con in our room in anticipation of a 5 hour bus journey that afternoon to Nha Trang. We are also nursing our sunburn. Poor little tommy tourists….
We wave goodbye to our crazy, entertaining London friend Sean and our little adopted travel family is down to 3.
Thanks Mui Ne………it was great to have met you.
