We shot over to the Coromandel Peninsula for some waterfalls and hot beaches. Cathedral cove was our first spot and it was a beach that you had to hike about 20 minutes to get to. Secluded and beautiful. We hopped in the water and went exploring in some sea caves, jumped off some flat rocks, and rinsed off in the waterfall nearby....not a bad day all in all. The next morning we got up for the low tide at hot water beach. Such a cool experience. I think you are supposed to use a shovel to dig your own private pool, but after clawing at the sand with hand and frisbee, Lewi and I relented and took a pool someone else left behind. Basically you dig to the hot water. It was amazing the central spring was boiling hot. We just sat in our natural hot tub and soaked in the amazing beach that was in front of us.
