My New Digs

The bus in Berlin from the airport was really easy and only €2.40. The journey to town was so quick that I almost missed the stop. I suppose in the days of the Berlin airlift they could hardly build the airport too far away - it would have been in a different country and behind barbed wire.
Next was the subway, also pretty straight-forward, especially as the ticket for the bus was also valid on the subway. Pretty good for €2.40!
Once off the subway I had to find my new digs.
And also pick up the key. My new hostess couldn't meet me herself so she left the keys at a take-away shop around the corner.
First I tried to find my apartment and it looked to be a pizza place and that didn't fill me with confidence but I thought finding it wouldn't do me much good without the keys so I went in search of the shop. It turned out to be across a very busy intersection and along. That had me worried too - it was hardly round the corner. Anyway the bloke there said there was no key. I had the feeling he hadn't been there all day so I wasn't impressed that he didn't try ringing the bloke that had. Luckily I spotted a padded out envelope on a shelf and I asked him what that was? Sure enough my keys. Back up the road it turned out that number three was next to the pizza place so I was in.
The externals were not so impressive but the flat itself was very nice; heaps of shops and restaurants/bars downstairs. I went out for a couple of beers to get a feel for the place.
A bookshelf with some books, even in Bulgarian
Table, couch, window, kitchen round that corner. Bigger than a hotel room that's for sure.
