I love Brasov. It has Transylvanian charm. The architecture here is interesting even on the most dilapidated buildings. It feels like you're walking through ancient eastern culture here. Brasov was also ruled by Germans in ancient times so there's a lot of German spoken in this town. I went through a church (Black Church) which had some great German artwork, and also a lot of Ottoman carpets when the area was taken over. The history in Eastern Europe is so colored and so diverse. Within a country, there can be so many different influences based on who ruled over that part of the country at any certain time. Also, Romania is cheap. Lots of food for less than two dollars. Alcohol for three dollars. Heineken bottles for 1.40 dollars. I like the exchange rate, I just hope my money can last a bit longer now until I get to Austria. I'll be heading there after I'm done with Hungary.
