There was a student protest in Thessaloniki and Athens last night. They marched through the streets. Here in Thessaloniki there must've been a few thousand youth that went through. I didn't know what the protest was about but it was amazing to see people assemble like that in Greece where "Democracy was born" - I wanted to join in on the protest, but I knew it wouldn't be safe. And I had just opened a can of tuna to make sandwiches and I didn't want to leave that. However, I was able to get a few pictures of the demonstration as it past by. Greece so far is alright. The land, architecture and history is amazing. I'm still waiting to be amazed by the country as a whole. There have been a few disappointing moments. It's not too expensive at least.

I know I will put a pass on Turkey. I found out that USAian tourists pay 20$ or something like that, so I doubt it's worth the hassle. Instead, I'll go to Athens tomorrow, see an island or two and then head up to the Black Sea coast in Bulgaria.

I'm learning a lot from the museums, and in Thessaloniki there are many important ones. I went to the Jewish museum of Thessaloniki and got to see how the Jewish population started in Greece after the Spanish Inquisition in 1492. Of course, there was a Holocaust exhibit as well, and it's silencing.

I'm starting to feel like I'm ready to end the trip and there's still so much to do. Either that means I feel fulfilled already and the rest is just going to be icing, or it's that I'm dissatisfied with the journey. We'll have to see what it means.
