I rested a bit near Acadia national park before going toward the border and unfortunately that meant I was tired while I was on Highway 1 while I was going through the small towns. At one point there was this car that was following me and I slowed down to 40 mph so that he could pass me. But he wouldn't. I got a bit annoyed. And I was tired but I wanted to stop in a town to sleep for a few hours because I never sleep on the side of the road. So eventually I came to this small town and there was a gas station, so I pulled over there. And lo and behold, the car that was following me the whole time was the deputy sheriff's car. I'm glad I didn't have to explain that I was tired from driving all the way from Philly.

I crossed the border and forgot to fill up on gas before I went across. I forgot that prices were by liter over there and thus very expensive. I was also surprised at how easy the crossing was. I got the general questions that you get at the airport and then off I was. For future reference, I did not have as fun of a time coming back into the country. I intended to sleep for an hour at this one town before the transcanadian highway, but I didn't wake up in due time. So it was light already when I left. And plus with the time zones, I was already behind schedule that day.

After a nice drive, I came up to the bridge for Prince Edward Island. I hadn't stopped yet that morning. Subsequently I didn't have any Canadian dollars and I just realized that the bridge to PEI was a toll bridge so I got off at the last exit and stocked up as well. Turns out that the toll is only to leave the island and they accept credit anyway.

And then went I got back toward the bridge I saw a sign that said it cost 41.50 to cross the bridge for cars. I was confused, so I stopped at the last exit before the bridge. Maybe it was for trucks and car rates were only 20 bucks. Well I found out it was correct. It was that expensive to go to PEI. Yikes. I couldn't justify the price, so I opted to not drive across the bridge. So I took pictures at the vantage point at that rest area and then found out they had a shuttle to the other side. It was only 4 bucks a pop so I did that instead. Of course, it only gets to me Gateway Village, but I get to say I crossed the bridge and was on Prince Edward Island. That was the goal anyway.
