From Boothbay Harbor to Bar Harbor it took 5 hrs. I did not expect it to take that long since it was probably only a 150 mile stretch or so. But speed limit changes, local traffic patterns (4 way stops) and pedestrian crossings made it much longer than it could've been.

So the two hours I could've spent in the national park was lost and by the time I was near Acadia, it was pretty much dusk. So I opted to just spend the time in Bar Harbor, take pictures and leave onward to Canada. It was nice. Just like Boothbay but more established and more organic. It felt like it could survive as a small town in the offseason. Boothbay felt like it was solely dependent on tourism and everything shut down in the winter. With Bar Harbor, it felt like the town could go on without the tourism, not like it would survive, but at least something existed.

I wish I could've had time to go into Acadia. But I quickly realized that everywhere I'm going on this trip is something I can do in the future. It's not like I need extreme health like this to do it all.
